The GoSun's solar vacuum tube is internally coated with a microscopic layer of aluminum nitride, a powerful semiconductor. This material has the unique ability to absorb a broad spectrum of electromagnetic radiation, including ultraviolet light, which can pass through clouds when visible light can not, allowing the stove to cook a meal in less than ideal conditions.

In looking this up I found that when heated it is extremely toxic...wondering why you are using it...
Hi Margaret, good question. The only material which comes in contact with food is the borosilicate glass. The cooking chamber is a vacuum tube; two layers of glass with a pocket of air between them. Hope this helps!
Also the tray is made of stainless steel, and the stopper/plug near the tray handle is a food grade silicone
Thanks for that information...sounds very non toxic. When I looked up what the blue in the tube is it said it is aluminum nitrile which when heated give off very toxic gasses.
The dig ran shows the nitril layer in between the two glass layers in the vacuum part of the tube. Making no chance for toxic gasses to escape.
